West Spokane Wellness Partnership (WSWP)
- WSWP Coalition is located in Spokane County, serving the West Central Community, North Central HS and its feeder schools.
The West Spokane Wellness Partnership’s commitment is: To support drug and alcohol prevention, as it overlaps with mental health prevention, suicide prevention, family violence prevention, and teen pregnancy prevention.
Establish and strengthen collaboration among communities, public and private non-profit agencies, as well as federal, state, local, and tribal governments to support the efforts of community coalition work to prevent and reduce substance use and misuse among youth. We analyze local data such as the Healthy Youth Survey, which is taken by high school students in Washington State. We then use the data to identify and develop strategies to promote health and wellness in the West Spokane area.
Using resources already available in the community and the support of sector representation, the coalition tries to determine the root causes of risky behaviors, behaviors that might indicate substance use, by analyzing data from sources like the Healthy Youth Survey, which is taken by high school students in Washington State. By looking at root causes the coalition can identify strategies, like prevention programs and community activities, to help support and protect youth and their families.
The West Spokane Wellness Partnership’s mission is to promote community health and wellness strategies that address preventing substance use and supportive community empowerment to strengthen families in West Spokane.
