Healthy Opportunities and Prevention Education (HOPE) for Wilbur-Creston Communities

The Wilbur-Creston Coalition began its formation in late 2021 in response to receiving Community Prevention and Wellness Initiative (CPWI) funding. The community of Wilbur-Creston is contained within the Wilbur, WA and Creston, WA communities. Wilbur is located in scenic Lincoln County on Highway 2. Nestled in the midst of wheat country, Wilbur is only a 30-minute drive to Lake Roosevelt, Grand Coulee Dam or Banks Lake and about an hour from Spokane. Creston is located roughly 20 miles west of Davenport, the county seat, at the foot of what was known as Brown’s Butte, a gently sloping hill in the heart of what was historically known as Brent’s country, one of the richest farming areas in Lincoln County. The Creston School District maintains the Creston Elementary and Wilbur-Creston 7-8th grade students. Within the Wilbur School District there is Wilbur Elementary and the 9-12 grade students are maintained in Wilbur-Creston High school.
Mission
The Wilbur-Creston Community Coalition’s mission is to develop a culture of health and safety in our community by addressing issues related to the misuse of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, and other drugs by youth.
